This video shows use of a rebreathing bag in the horse to increase respiratory depth and effort and enhance auscultation of the respiratory tract. Some horses may not tolerate this procedure, so only perform if it is safe to do so, and the horse remains calm. Ensure that the bag does not occlude the nostrils and remove as soon as you see a change in breathing pattern.
