From Craig Sturrock
This movie shows the root system development of a maize (Zea mays) seeding grown in a clay loam soil. The image was captured using X-ray computed microtomography (microCT) at The Hounsfield Facility, School of Biosciences, University of Nottingham. microCT is a non-destructive imaging technique that allows visualisation and quantification of objects in 3D. The seedling was imaged after 3 and 10 days. The video was produced in Blender using the CT data.
