This module will develop your knowledge of Chinese phonetics, grammar and vocabulary and your ability to understand and communicate information, orally and in writing using Chinese characters, to between A1 and A2 of the Common European Framework of Proficiency. To ensure progress towards this goal, you will enjoy exposure to written, audio and audio-visual documents appropriate to this level of study. Such exposure will be supplemented by learning activities that develop your comprehension, of the texts, explicit knowledge of Chines phonetics, grammar and vocabulary, your proficiency in spoken and written Chinese and your knowledge and understanding of the Chinese-speaking world and its cultures.
