“Blood Under the Skin” is a documentary created by Chris Godwin, inspired by the research project of Dr. Morteza Hashemi, an assistant professor in sociology at the University of Nottingham. The film explores the social dynamics of blood circulation in Scotland, specifically focusing on a grassroots blood donation campaign led by Scottish Muslims in collaboration with the NHS. Through this documentary, the filmmaker aim to address questions related to multiculturalism in the UK and examine how blood plays a role in strengthening social cohesion.
